Emergency Coordinator

Emergency response coordinators are required to be familiar with the location of emergency equipment, alarm systems, emergency phone numbers. Annual training is required. We offer 1 and 2-hour classes. Highlights: Agency notification, Evaluation of recent events at your facility, Emergency response.

First Responder

All employees must be familiar with their personal responsibilities and the location of emergency equipment. Annual training is required under OSHA, RCRA and the CWA. We provide 3-hour awareness level training and 8-hour operations level training. Highlights: emergency equipment locations, emergency response roles and procedures, escape routes, personal protective equipment, and spill prevention and control.

Hazard Communication

This standard was developed by OSHA to ensure employees had access to specific information about the hazardous materials they may encounter during their work day. Annual training is required. We provide a 1-hour review course. Highlights: Location of MSDSs, MSDS interpretation, General emergency response.

Hazardous/Dangerous Waste Management (Advanced)

This course is designed for employes who manage or perform advanced hazardous waste functions and covers Federal and Washington State regulations.  Content includes waste designation, labeling, segregation, counting, staging, recordkeeping, reporting and emergency response.

Registration includes handbook and review of specific real-life applications.  Annual training is required.

Hazardous/Dangerous Waste Management (Introductory

This course is designed for employes who perform nominal functions relative to hazardous waste and covers Federal and Washington State regulations.  Content includes basic aspects of waste designation, labeling, container management, inspection, recordkeeping, reporting and emergency response.

Handbook provided. Annual training is required and may be at the Introductory or Advanced level.

Hazmat Transportation

Employees involved in the shipping and receiving of hazardous materials need to know proper handling techniques in accordance with DOT. They are required to have refresher training every three years. We offer 7-hour training which qualifies the individual for either initial or refresher requirements. Highlights: General Awareness/Familiarization, Marking and Labeling, Shipping Documentation, Placards, Separation/Segregation, Transportation Safety Practices, and Security Awareness.

Who should attend? Employees who prepare hazardous material for transport, receive or otherwise handle hazmat loads, prepare or package hazmat for transport, operate vehicles transporting hazmat or have other responsibilities for hazmat driving. Employers who cause employees to perform any of the functions above..

HAZWOPER - 24-hour Initial Training

This class offers the knowledge and skills necessary to assist with remedial activities in the event of a hazardous materials incident.

Who should attend?  Those who are:
- On site only occasionally for a specific limited task (such as, but not limited to, ground water monitoring, land surveying, or geophysical surveying) and who are unlikely to be exposed over permissible exposure limits and published exposure limits;
- Regularly on site and work in areas which have been monitored and fully characterized indicating that exposures are under permissible exposure limits and published exposures limits where respirators are not necessary, and the characterization indicates that there are no health hazards or the possibility of an emergency developing; or
- On-site management and supervisors directly responsible for, or who supervise employees engaged in hazardous waste operations.

The training is conducted in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120 and WAC 296-824 and -843. Highlights: Hazardous materials recognition, Basics of toxicology, Employee medical surveillance, Chemical hazards, Respiratory and personal protection, Confined space entry, Spill control engineering and decontamination..

Highlights: Hazardous materials recognition, Basics of toxicology, Employee medical surveillance, Chemical hazards, Respiratory and personal protection, Confined space entry, Spill control engineering and decontamination.
