Environmental, Health & Safety Consultant/Associate Engineer

Position Description: Investigate, evaluate, plan and implement solutions to help our clients comply with environmental regulations at facilities throughout the Pacific Northwest.  Work locations are industrial settings and may possess environmental or safety hazards.  Some travel (less than 15% of time on average).  Please note: dog on-site.

Responsibilities (In the fields of air, water, hazardous waste and/or safety):

  • Develop complete and accurate permit applications.
  • Interact and negotiate with clients, local regulators, and peers on permit issuance.
  • Evaluate control technologies for cost, effectiveness and implementability.
  • Monitor occupational exposure to toxic materials and noise.
  • Develop and implement effective compliance management systems.
  • Perform quality monitoring activities.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering or related field
  • F.E. or P.E.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Effective technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Additional consideration for completion of a Master’s degree and/or permitting experience.

Compensation: $50 – $75K D.O.Q.

Corporate Environment: Spring Environmental is based in Spokane, Washington, and has been providing environmental consulting and engineering services throughout the Inland Northwest for more than 20 years. The business is located within walking distance of the Spokane River, the Centennial Trail, Kendall Yards, YMCA/YWCA and downtown Spokane with easy access to highways and thoroughfares.  We operate within a reasonably flat management structure with 7 to 12 employees and rely on conscientious professionals to effectively provide services to our clients.
